Making subsections be numbered with A,B,C in latex

Since by default the counter for subsections will reset every new section, all you have to do is to redefine the \thesubsection command controlling the representation of the subsection counter:

Syntax

\renewcommand\thesubsection{\Alph{subsection}}

Example

\documentclass[12pt]{article}

\renewcommand\thesubsection{\Alph{subsection}}

\begin{document}

\section{Section 1}
\subsection{Section 1, Subsection1}
text for Section 1, Subsection 1
\subsection{Section 1, Subsection2}
text for Section 1, Subsection 2
\section{Section 2}
\subsection{Section 2, Subsection1}
text for Section 2, Subsection 1
\subsection{Section 2, Subsection1}
text for Section 2, Subsection 1

\end{document}

\end{document}
